Dreams: The Gateway to Self-Knowledge
Every night, whether or not you are aware of it, you dream. And, in those dreams everything you need to know about every aspect of your life is revealed to you. We feel safer exploring those hidden aspects of ourselves and our universe while we are dreaming than while we are awake. If you never develop any other aspect of your psychic potential than dream interpretation, you will still have enough skill to successfully negotiate the ups and downs of your existence and to understand the universe around you and its fun.
Here are some of the universal symbols of dreams and some questions to analyse your dreams:
1. Water (ocean, rivers, waterfalls, whirlpools, lakes, puddles) = Life
Are you drowning? Are you fearful of plunging in? Do you feel you must fight against the current or flow? Is there something dangerous out there you can’t get away from?
2. Car (or other vehicles) = Your body as it moves through life
Where is the car going? Is it in need of repair? Has it been involved in an accident? Is it going around and around in circles? Is it out of control with no brakes? Who is driving/controlling? Maybe it won’t start!
3. House = Your body as it is; current health
Is the house a luxurious mansion or a broken down old shed? How many rooms are in the house? What was in each room? Were the rooms dusty and dirty, or cluttered or bare? Was the house multi-storey? Was it falling down? Were you thinking of moving houses? Was someone peering into the house? How did this make you feel?
4. Fire = Cleansing
This is a very powerful symbol of transformative powers at work in your life.
5. Death = Complete change
Change in circumstances or a large shift in your consciousness. Death images in your dream are actually very positive indications that you are ready to change something in your life. To dream of a child dying is letting you know that one way you relate to that child has become outmoded. Or it can be the way you relate to your inner child. Enjoy your dream death as it is preparing you for change.
